WealthFluent vs PortfolioPilot (2026)

PortfolioPilot is a technology product of Global Predictions Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). Hybrid-AI portfolio tools. Personalized recommendations when you subscribe. WealthFluent is DIY software, not an RIA: assets and liabilities, Lifetime Wealth Planning that produces an investable benchmark, a cross-account AI Portfolio Optimizer (you approve the trades; no custody), and Magpie on the connected file. Magpie is not a financial advisor.

This page is a comparison, not a verdict. Prices and plan names change. Check theirs, and check ours. WealthFluent is not a financial advisor. Nothing here is advice or a recommendation.

PortfolioPilot is not a retirement scenario planner (that is Boldin). It is not a free dashboard-plus-AUM funnel (that is Empower). It is not a household budget app (that is Monarch). This page is a software RIA. For hiring a human, traditional RIA firm, see WealthFluent vs RIA. For the three-product sit-down (planner vs dashboard vs plan-plus-portfolio), see WealthFluent vs Boldin vs Empower. For the category map, see Best retirement planning software.

Different contracts, overlapping screens

People land on this page because both products link accounts, score a portfolio, and can put a recommended trade list in front of you. That overlap is real. The contract after the screen is not.

PortfolioPilot is an internet-based advisory product. Their public site says you must subscribe to receive personalized investment advice. Global Predictions is the RIA. Recommendations on paid tiers are advice under that relationship, not a software “nudge” with the same legal meaning as a tool. They market hybrid-AI models plus a Portfolio Score, retirement and scenario planning on Free, and personalized buy/sell suggestions on Gold and above. Their ADV and site describe read-only access and no custody of client funds — you stay in your own accounts and execute. Treat that as their current public position; confirm live.

WealthFluent is a personalized financial decision platform sold as software. We are not an RIA. The books (assets and liabilities) are the starting point, not the product. A lifetime plan produces a personalized, investable benchmark — not a risk bucket. Then the AI Portfolio Optimizer recommends specific trades across the accounts you already own. You approve, modify, or dismiss. No custody. No auto-trading. Magpie answers from that file. Magpie informs and educates. It does not trade. It is not an advisor.

If you want an RIA relationship delivered through software, PortfolioPilot is built for that job. If you want DIY plan-plus-optimizer tools without becoming an advisory client, that is WealthFluent. Do not buy a second subscription because a comparison page told you to.

Who each is for

Choose PortfolioPilot if…

You want hybrid-AI portfolio tools and personalized investment recommendations from an RIA. You are willing to subscribe (and, on their terms, become an advisory client) to get those recs. A free net-worth / planning / Portfolio Score tier is a real front door. Gold is the first paid rung that adds personalized investing recommendations.

Their current public plans (confirm live on portfoliopilot.com/pricing): Free is $0. Gold is commonly $20/month billed annually (about $240/year; $29/month if billed monthly). Platinum is commonly $49/month billed annually ($99/month billed monthly). Pro is commonly $99/month billed annually ($149/month billed monthly). Paid plans often start with a 10-day trial (they currently advertise full Pro-level access, no credit card — confirm live). Platinum adds fee optimization, tax-efficient distribution advice, unlimited AI assistant, and related tools. Pro adds private-equity modeling, liquidity / cash-flow analysis, multi-user login, and a quarterly 1:1 product-expert call — they disclose that call is not individualized financial advice or a dedicated advisor relationship. Check their current plan.

PortfolioPilot is not trying to be DIY software that refuses the advisor role. Treat it as the RIA product it is.

Choose WealthFluent if…

You are self-directed. You do not want to hire an RIA to get a recommended-trade list. You want assets and liabilities in one place. You want a lifetime plan that produces a personalized benchmark. You want to simulate a change, then see recommended trades across the 401(k), the old rollover, the IRAs, and taxable — as software, not as advice. And you want to ask an AI that already has that file. Magpie is not an advisor.

We founded WealthFluent in 2020 in Edwards, Colorado. David J. Kon (CEO), Dr. Stanley J. Kon (Chairman), and Joshua P. Kon (CTO). Frank J. Fabozzi, PhD, sits on the advisory board.

On the optimizer and assist tools, Fabozzi has said: “Say goodbye to spreadsheets! WealthFluent’s unique product combines electronic access to fundamental security data with all your assets and liabilities and a set of tools for managing customized portfolios. Enormous productivity is achieved with its Optimizer and Assist tools for wealth portfolio management.”

Use both if…

Some households reasonably keep an RIA software product for fiduciary recs and run WealthFluent for Lifetime Wealth Planning, the cross-account optimizer, and Magpie on the same books. Overlap on “recommended trades you execute” is real — do not pay twice for the same job. We do not need you to delete PortfolioPilot. We need the job we actually do to be the one you came for.

Web and the Apple App Store for WealthFluent. There is no Google Play listing to claim. App Store billing can differ from the web prices above — that is intentional, not a mismatch to “fix.”

RIA advice vs DIY software

This is the contrast that actually matters. Two products can show a trade list and still not be interchangeable.

On PortfolioPilot, personalized recommendations are investment advice from Global Predictions, an RIA. Their public pages say you must subscribe to receive that advice. That is a feature if you want a fiduciary software adviser. It is a different contract from a tool. Registration as an investment adviser does not imply a certain level of skill or training — their own disclosures say so. Read their Client Agreement and compliance page.

On WealthFluent, the optimizer and Magpie are tools for informed decision-making. They are not recommendations in the adviser sense. We are not an RIA. Magpie is not a financial advisor. You stay responsible for what you execute.

Do not compare “whose AI is smarter.” Compare whether you want an advisory relationship or software.

Planning depth

PortfolioPilot lists full retirement and scenario planning on Free, plus custom future simulations on Platinum. That is a real planning surface. It is not the same center of gravity as Boldin’s Social Security / Roth-path explorers. If those explorers are the work, evaluate Boldin on their site — do not invent PortfolioPilot parity, and do not invent WealthFluent parity with Boldin either.

WealthFluent’s Lifetime Wealth Planning produces milestones, probability distributions, and a personalized, investable benchmark from your plan — not a risk bucket. The free When can I retire? calculator is the short front door to that question.

A Portfolio Score plus scenarios is not a lifetime plan-plus-optimizer, and a lifetime plan is not RIA advice. Different jobs.

Portfolio action

On PortfolioPilot, Gold and above add personalized investing recommendations based on the portfolio they see — expected returns, tax impact, risk preferences, goals. You review a draft. You execute in the accounts you already have. They state they do not trade for you and do not custody. Confirm live. Because Global Predictions is an RIA, those personalized recs are advice when you are a client.

On WealthFluent, you simulate a change, then the AI Portfolio Optimizer recommends specific trades across accounts, with tax-aware placement. You approve, modify, or dismiss. No custody. No auto-trading. That output is a software tool, not advice.

A recommended trade list from an RIA and a recommended trade list from DIY software can look similar on screen. They are not the same product.

The Magpie wedge: your Roth, not a Roth

Generic AI can explain a Roth. Magpie can explain yours.

That is the difference versus ChatGPT, and it is the difference versus an assistant that sits on an RIA recommendation engine — useful if you hired that adviser, not the same as Magpie on a lifetime wealth plan plus a non-advisory optimizer.

Magpie is connected to the accounts, goals, liabilities, and personalized benchmark you already keep in WealthFluent. It answers with share counts, dollar amounts, and real allocations. It is hosted on Amazon Bedrock. Inputs are not used for training, not stored persistently, and do not leave Bedrock to reach the underlying model provider.

Magpie is not a financial advisor. It informs and educates. It does not trade.

The product URL is wealthfluent.com/financial-intelligence/. Do not use /meet-magpie/ — that is a stale beta announcement.

PortfolioPilot markets an AI assistant (limited on Gold, unlimited on Platinum and Pro). Check their current plan. If the question you care about is “given my accounts and my liabilities, what is true,” without becoming an advisory client, that is the Magpie job.

Price, without the slide-deck voice

A subscription is a software contract. An RIA subscription that includes personalized advice is still a subscription, but it is not the same contract as DIY tools. AUM is a third contract.

Using figures we publish on wealthfluent.com/pricing/ and PortfolioPilot’s public pricing as of August 31, 2026 (confirm live on portfoliopilot.com/pricing):

Product How it is priced Illustrative cost
PortfolioPilot Free Free tier $0 — confirm live
PortfolioPilot Gold Flat subscription (annual billed monthly-equivalent) About $20/mo (~$240/year). $29/mo if billed monthly — confirm live
WealthFluent Essentials Flat subscription (web) About $72/year
WealthFluent Premium Flat subscription (web) $144/year
PortfolioPilot Platinum Flat subscription (annual) About $49/mo (~$588/year). $99/mo monthly — confirm live
Boldin PlannerPlus Flat subscription $144/year
PortfolioPilot Pro Flat subscription (annual) About $99/mo (~$1,188/year). $149/mo monthly — confirm live
WealthFluent Lifetime Once (60-day money-back) $1,200
Empower Personal Dashboard Free $0
Empower wealth management (as we list it) 0.89% AUM on the first $1M About $4,450 a year on $500K

WealthFluent Lifetime is $1,200 once, with a 60-day money-back guarantee. Premium stays $144 a year as the portfolio grows. The software does not get more expensive because you did the job.

Apple App Store in-app prices for WealthFluent can differ from these web prices. Disclose that if you shop on iOS; do not treat it as an error.

Gold at ~$240/year is not “more expensive WealthFluent.” It is an RIA recs tier. Premium at $144 is not “cheaper advice.” We do not sell advice. Confirm PortfolioPilot, and our pricing page, before you decide. The AUM line is the figure we show on that page — confirm Empower’s current schedule and minimums before you treat it as a quote.

When to choose which — or both

Stay self-directed on the whole file, no RIA. Start a 14-day trial, connect accounts, open Magpie. That is WealthFluent.

Want hybrid-AI recs from an RIA. Use PortfolioPilot. Confirm Free vs Gold vs Platinum vs Pro on their site. Do not confuse that with Magpie, and do not confuse it with a 1% AUM firm that takes discretion.

Want retirement-scenario math (Social Security, Roth paths, “does this plan hold”). Evaluate Boldin. That is not PortfolioPilot’s reason to exist, and it is not a reason to skip the optimizer if that is the other job.

Want a household budget. Evaluate Monarch. Different lane.

Want both an RIA recs product and a lifetime plan-plus-optimizer. Only if the jobs do not duplicate. We don’t need you to pick a single logo.

What you actually get on WealthFluent

If you are comparing line items, this is the stack — not a feature dump.

  1. Account aggregation — assets and liabilities, read-only.
  2. Financial Wellness Score — plus debt-health and related scores on current plans.
  3. Lifetime Wealth Planning — milestones, probability distributions, a personalized benchmark. The free When can I retire? calculator is the short front door to that question.
  4. Portfolio Optimization — simulate, then recommended trades. The AI Portfolio Optimizer works across accounts, with tax-aware placement. You execute. Not advice. No custody.
  5. Magpie — on your actual file. Not an advisor. Portfolio Optimization Engine and Market Analysis are Premium and Lifetime.

Essentials is $15/month or about $72/year: planning and scores, with Magpie listed on pricing. Premium adds the Portfolio Optimizer, Market Analysis, and spouse/partner login. Lifetime is Premium, paid once.

FAQ

Is PortfolioPilot an RIA?

Yes. PortfolioPilot is a technology product of Global Predictions Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor. Their public site says you must subscribe to receive personalized investment advice. WealthFluent is not an RIA. Magpie is not a financial advisor. Confirm their current Form ADV / Client Agreement.

Does PortfolioPilot replace WealthFluent?

No. An RIA hybrid-AI recs product is not DIY Lifetime Wealth Planning plus a non-advisory cross-account optimizer plus Magpie. Both can link accounts and show trades you execute. That overlap is not sameness. Some households will reasonably use both; many should pick one job.

Is WealthFluent cheaper than PortfolioPilot?

Free is $0. Gold is commonly about $20/month billed annually (~$240/year). WealthFluent Premium is $144 a year on the web. That is not a reason to pick either. You would not pay $144 for RIA advice we do not give, and you would not pay $240 for a planner-plus-optimizer you do not need. Read the table. Confirm live prices. Apple App Store in-app prices for WealthFluent can differ from web by design.

Can I use both WealthFluent and PortfolioPilot?

Yes, if the jobs differ. A common mistake is paying for two recommended-trade lists. Keep PortfolioPilot if you want RIA recs; run WealthFluent for the lifetime plan, the optimizer, and Magpie if that is the other job. We don’t need you to delete the RIA product.

What’s included in the 14-day trial?

A 14-day free trial of WealthFluent so you can connect accounts and use the tools before you pay. The default Premium trial includes the Portfolio Optimizer and Market Analysis. Confirm current trial terms on the site. PortfolioPilot currently advertises a 10-day trial on paid plans — confirm live on their site.

Is this financial advice?

No. WealthFluent is not a financial advisor. Magpie is not a financial advisor. PortfolioPilot / Global Predictions is an RIA; their personalized recs are advice to their clients — read their disclosures. This page is information for a buying decision about software versus an RIA product, not a recommendation of securities.

Start a 14-day free trial

If the work is your whole file — plan, books, and the trades that close the gap — as DIY software, start there. If the work is hybrid-AI recs from an RIA, evaluate PortfolioPilot on their site. If you need both jobs, only pay twice when the jobs are actually different.
