In about three minutes, see a retirement age, how wealth may change over the years, and a sense of upside and downside. Totally free. No advisory fee. Not a 1% relationship.
This is WealthFluent’s retirement calculator — the same one linked from the homepage. It is a planning tool. It is not financial advice and not a recommendation.
Comparing tools, not just a date? Best retirement planning software 2026.
What you get
- A retirement age, not a single magic “number”
- How expected wealth may change over the years
- Upside potential and downside risk — a range, not one line
- About three minutes, on the web, free
Most “when can I retire” calculators on the internet are a savings rate, a return assumption, and a date. This one is built for people who have a real balance sheet: accounts, a house, Social Security, spending, the life they actually want. The full WealthFluent platform is the lifetime plan, the optimizer, and Magpie. The calculator is the front door.
How it is different from a 4% rule worksheet
The 4% rule is a guess from a different market. A single retirement number hides sequence of returns, inflation, the house, and when you claim Social Security.
WealthFluent’s planning engine uses a probability distribution of future net worth and a personalized benchmark — not a risk bucket. The free calculator is the short version of that question: when, and with what range of outcomes?

What you will need
Enough to sketch the picture: income, what you have saved, when you hope to stop, a rough spend. You can refine it later inside the platform. There is a 14-day trial on paid plans if you want Magpie and the optimizer after the calculator.
Web and iOS. Apple App Store billing can differ from web prices. There is no Android app yet.
After the calculator
If the job is just a date, stop there. If the job is the whole file — liabilities, a plan that produces an investable benchmark, trades across accounts, Magpie on your Roth — that is Financial Intelligence. Premium is $144/year, not 1% of AUM. Comparison: vs Boldin vs Empower · vs a 1% advisor.
FAQ
Is the WealthFluent retirement calculator free?
Yes. The 3-minute calculator linked from this page and the homepage is free. Paid plans (Essentials about $72/year, Premium $144/year) are the full platform. 14-day trial on those.
Do I need to connect all my accounts first?
You can start with a sketch. Connecting accounts later makes the plan specific to your books. Connections are read-only. We do not take custody.
Is this financial advice?
No. WealthFluent is not a financial advisor. The calculator and Magpie inform and educate. They do not recommend trades or manage money for you.
How is this different from an AARP or brokerage calculator?
Those tools are usually a savings rate and a historical return. This one is built as the front door to a lifetime plan that can include assets and liabilities, a personalized benchmark, and (on Premium) Magpie plus a cross-account optimizer. Use theirs if you only want a napkin date. Use this if you want the date attached to your actual file.
Where is the calculator on the homepage?
Lower on wealthfluent.com: “Calculate your retirement age and expected wealth.” The Start now button is the same free tool as the button on this page.
